Just back from a wonderful cruise in the Baltics and agree entirely with the previous comment. The standards were very high and faultless - but not as high as the add-on prices, leaving us Brits very unhappy and unable to reward as we would have liked - and quite abstemious too (no bad thing perhaps!).
We only booked excursions in St Petersburg and the evening at the Hermitage with the ballet was superb and quite magical. Unfortunately the day at the Peterhof went awry which was a great loss. We were offered a small refund (no doubt the contractor would not be paid but Celebrity would retain their profit margin!) but this did not give us back our lost day. We enjoyed exploring the other beautiful ports independently, which was usually easy, but there were shuttles (no free tenders here!) for those less mobile.
Our cabin 9045 was opposite the pool machinery room (which we had not been told about) and this was an obtrusive drone, but could be drowned out by opening the balcony door a little and listening to the sea instead. Guest relations did not help here and, after all, we were on holiday and did not want to waste time complaining.
The guests were from all over the world which added great interest to the flavour of the cruise. The holiday was quite excellent, the weather very kind, the itinerary very worthwhile and of course we had great company and a lot of fun. But maybe not with Celebrity again!
